Cleansers

First and foremost, cleansers are made to clean dirt and oil off our skin.

Think of cleansers in 2 categories: medicated v non-medicated.

The most common examples of medicated cleansers are those that have benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid.

I recommend using an exfoliating cleanser once daily and non-medicated cleanser once daily (one that just cleans the dirt and oil off the skin).

There are some general guidelines for picking a cleanser:

Foaming cleanser- great for oily, normal-oily or combination skin types.

Gel cleansers- dry skin

Milky cleanser- dry skin

For sensitive skin, La Roche-Posay, especially for sensitive and dry skin

For eczema-prone sensitive skin, Epionce.

For acne-prone skin, there are wonderful, cheaper options available that mainly include salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.

Many are linked on this website.

Cleansers are not a place I typically recommend $$, unless you find one that's worth it for sure!

Tutorials

Did you know? There are not that many ingredients in skincare.

The marketing and different mixtures = the expansive skincare market.

When I create a #customskincare routine, I’m grouping ingredients in the right concentration and vehicle (serum v moisturizer) for YOU, your skin and goals.

I don’t get excited about a product until I turn it around and check out the active ingredients👏🏼
