Eye Creams

Texture is most important!

Eye creams are used twice daily and you can use the same eye cream morning and night.

Some eye creams have a concealer-like color and are best used in the morning, in my opinion.

Eye creams are formulated differently than moisturizers because the skin around the eyes (eyelid skin) is distinctly different from other skin on our face. ⁣

Think of eye creams in 3 categories: prevention (peptides, retinol), correction of wrinkles, correction of dark circles

Moisturizing and the massaging motion that it entails is most important on daily basis! ⁣

Common causes of under eye circles are not getting enough sleep, allergies, genetics, aging. ⁣For those looking to depuff on a daily basis without fine lines or wrinkles look for caffeine on a daily basis and added bonuses are peptides, hyaluronic acid, and dimethicone, and optical diffusers.

Eye creams that check multiple boxes are going to be best: Skinceuticals A.G.E eye complex $98 does all 3!

Please purchase at a local spa or skinceuticals.com. ⁣

Some eye creams are very tinted (use AM), like ⁣𝗟𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲-𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘆 Pigmentclar Eyes $43⁣ (with caffeine and a metal applicator)

Many have light reflecting particles enough that can be used AM and PM:

𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘆 Ultimate Eye Cream $25⁣

𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 Ginseng Refreshing Eye Cream $32 with caffeine

𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 Eye Contour Lifting Cream $95⁣ ⁣

𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗬𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 Countertime Ultra Renewal Eye Cream $69 has bakuchiol and is antiaging option that also has a great texture

𝗞𝗶𝗲𝗵𝗹’𝘀 Creamy Eye Treatment $50 ⁣is an option with a great texture and is moisturizing but does not have caffeine.

Some other new favorites are Epionce Renewal eye cream and Neocutis lumiere.

For CORRECTING/improving fine lines and wrinkles⁣, I recommend 𝗢𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗶 Elastiderm Eye Cream $115 .

* use twice daily for 12 weeks to see results then continue ⁣

*yes, worth the price. You get what you pay for ⁣+ last 6 months ⁣It's not as moisturizing, but has the science to support improvement in skin elasticity.

Tip: There is not one miracle eye cream. If you still experience dark circles I recommend using a moisturizing concealer after eye cream like Yves St. Laurent Touche eclat. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is another one of my faves, but it is a lot thicker and sometimes accentuates lower eyelid lines.

There are laser treatments and injectable fillers that are also used in this area if you are looking for more drastic improvement.⁣

Did you know? There are not that many ingredients in skincare.

The marketing and different mixtures = the expansive skincare market.

When I create a #customskincare routine, I’m grouping ingredients in the right concentration and vehicle (serum v moisturizer) for YOU, your skin and goals.

I don’t get excited about a product until I turn it around and check out the active ingredients👏🏼
