My favorite drugstore skincare products

I get it. Skincare can get expensive.

I want you to know this:

Quality custom skincare doesn’t have to be expensive. You just have to know WHAT to buy!

Before you start wandering the skincare aisles of the nearest store aimlessly, take the free skincare quiz.
After you’ve completed it, you will know your skin type and receive a plan with products at two price points (drugstore and medical- grade) and exactly which order to apply them.

The beautiful reality of it all is that we live in a world of options.
On a budget? There are plenty of cost efficient drugstore options.
Wondering which products you should spend extra to ensure quality? Medical grade products are out there.
Pregnant? There are safe product options and alternatives.

When it comes down to it, you get to choose what works the best for YOU.
The ultimate goal is a COMPLETE skincare routine you’ll actually do and enjoy.

Drugstore Products Recommended by a Dermatology Professional

These are products I continuously recommend to patients in my dermatology clinic.

I get it. Sometimes you just want to “add to cart” from the comfort of your couch and not worry about it. Well, the good news is, the majority of these drugstore skincare products are available online and you can shop them all in one place!

My Top Recommended Drugstore Products

The drugstores have SO MANY great products to offer at excellent price points.

Generally cleansers and moisturizers are not a place where you have to spend a lot of money, especially for breakouts, so I often opt for drugstore options in these categories.

4 ingredients you’ll find at the drugstore that have prescription options

Benzoyl proxide cleaners and retinoids are actually two drugstore products that I believe are consistently better than medical-grade brands.

PRO TIP: use your benzoyl peroxide cleanser to shave in the shower to prevent ingrown hairs.

Perfer to watch and learn? I have an instagram video on these 4 key ingredients you’ll find at the drugstore that have prescription options– this means they’re good stuff!

Drugstore Product Highlight

I 100% LOVE the Neutrogena Pore Cleanser/Mask in the shower. It gets my vote for best benzoyl peroxide cleanser EVERY time.

It’s all in the name. You can use it as a cleanser by applying in the shower, or as a mask, by applying it five minutes before you shower. The best part is, it helps oily and breakout-prone skin on the face and body.

Note: benzoyl peroxide does bleach fabric and can cause itching/burning so you can avoid the hassle by applying in the shower. The prescription benzoyl peroxide options are creams, which can cause increased side effects and also why I prefer the drugstore cleansers for this ingredient.

With these little tidbits of knowledge you’ll see healthy, clear skin and that doesn’t mean wealthy skin. Remember our goal: a complete skincare routine for YOUR skin type.
